1999 Château Ausone 1er Grand Cru Classé
1999 Château Ausone 1er Grand Cru Classé
Norbert says:
Whether the 1999 Ausone is the wine of the vintage that was tasted from the barrel in Bordeaux back in 2001, we now know that the 1999 Ausone is the wine of the vintage. Crimson red, a captivating bouquet of liquorice, minerals and blackberry and blueberry liqueur, exceptionally clear outlines, wonderful extract and phenomenal richness are the stuff from which legends are made. It seems impossible that this wine comes from a vintage like 1999. The landowner Alain Vauthier only produced 20,000 bottles because a quarter of the already low yield was lost. The result is an absolutely fabulous, even great, wine. Expected maturity now until 2050.
